Unexpected foods that are beneficial for good sleep

Sooner or later, many of us are faced with such a concept as a poor sleep. According to statistics, poor sleep affects around 1 in 3 people at any one time, while 10 to 30% of the population suffer from it on a chronic base. Unfortunately, the number of people who look at the ceiling every night, count sheep and check social networks in the hope of a fast sleep is too big.

Poor sleep is the most common problem in our time, and therefore many of you are looking for effective methods to help you solve this problem. However, not all the methods you try are effective and long-lasting. What can you do in this case? How about your eating habits? Did you know that some foods really help get a healthy sleep?

The fact is that what you eat has an influence on your sleep. In addition, if you go to bed with an empty stomach or vice versa with a very full stomach, it can also greatly affect your sleep. That is why a light snack in the evening is an excellent option for sleep efficiency. What's more, there are some foods that are really beneficial for sleeping.

Have you ever heard of the theory that drinking a warm milky drink before bedtime helps with sleep? Yes, milk is a good option before bedtime than caffeinated beverages. However, there is no scientific evidence that proves it, but nevertheless, we believe that it’s worth a try. What about bananas before bed? It is proved that bananas are the best evening snack, because they contain the essential amino acid (tryptophan), which contributes to the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin is involved in the onset and maintenance of sleep, and also helps to relax.

What's more, cherry juice drinks are also beneficial for improving one’s sleep. Tart cherries contain high levels of melatonin, a hormone associated with the dark period of the daily light-dark cycle.

However, do not forget that these products will not be able to solve your chronic problems with sleep. In this case, we do not recommend postponing the visit to the doctor. Take Care!
